Welcome to the Homeless No More Website
"Homeless No More" started as a project of the 2002-2003 Class of the Rotary Club of Madison. This Rotary sponsored public awareness campaign has continued and grown throughout the years.

Homelessness is a problem that affects many people. Our goal is to increase awareness of the homeless problems in our community and highlight the services available to help homeless housholds and those at risk of homelessness.

As a result of some of our work, the United Way, working closely with the major, and other top political leaders in our community have developed a long range action plan for Dane County to hopefully all but eliminate homelessness in the the future.

Our hope is that you will get involved to help us make a difference.

What is Homelessness?
Homelessness means not having a home. You don't have to be living on the streets to be homeless - even if you have a roof over your head you can still be homeless. Individuals who lack a fixed, regular, and adequate nighttime residence are considered homeless.

Services
There are many services offered by a number of non-profit agencies throughout Dane County that help homeless people in our community. Click Here to learn more about some of these organizations and the services they provide.

Help is Just a Phone Call Away
When you need help and you don't know where to turn, just call United Way. 2-1-1 is an easy to remember telephone number that connects people with important community services and volunteer opportunities. Whether you need food for your family, health care for your child or a support group for a family issue, 2-1-1 can help you, day or night, every day of the year.

The implementation of 2-1-1 is being spearheaded by United Way and comprehensive and specialized information and referral agencies in states and local communities. United Way of America (UWA) and the Alliance for Information and Referral Systems (AIRS) strongly support federal funding so that every American has access to this essential service.

While services that are offered through 2-1-1 vary from community to community, 2-1-1 provides callers with information about and referrals to human services for every day needs and in times of crisis. To get or give help, simply dial 2-1-1 (24 hours a day 365 days per year). Services are free, confidential and available in all languages. If you are using a cell phone, dial 246-4357 (246-HELP). TTY # 246-4360.
